New Beginnings

Hello, owlnerds. I have decided to change the focus of this blog. I know. I know. I have been down in my game recently. I have been writing posts on poetry and such but don’t worry the change will boost my influence in my blog. and I will post once a week possibly twice a week.

For so long, I thought I could manage a book blog but recently I have been uninspired. So my blog will be dedicated to health, beauty, fashion, and books. My blog will always be a home for books but will not be a prime focus

And if you saw already, my new motto is “One step in the soul and one step out of the body.” The meaning behind is that I am focusing on myself and careless of the body. I am healing in a mental/spiritual journey. For the longest time, I thought of the negative thoughts but now I am looking for happier thoughts. Learning to love myself. The flesh is a dark place, so not allowing the body to take over me. To use my soul to guide me through God’s Word.

New Blog Schedule: Mondays and sometimes Fridays

To new beginnings. Thanks for reading!!!

Houk’s Society Episode 1

Welcome to the first ever episode of Houk’s society. Houk’s society is a club for all characters written by myself. Each week I plan on allowing the main character of one of my stories to make an appearance on my blog. They will discuss their backstory without sharing any spoilers. There will be least twenty episodes including some that other characters will interact with each other.

This week to start everything off, met Joyce. The main character of one of my oldest stories. Joyce has bright red hair, green eyes, and freckles. Joyce was just a girl who lived with her parents in the middle of the countryside. Too impatient was she when she wanted to know what she was designed to do in her life. She didn’t want to wait and discover what the Lord wanted her to do. Instead, she disappeared. Dropping out of high school at sixteen, she followed only a phone call to Europe where she met Joseph. Joseph offered a job to be a secretary for his father, Abisha. Little did she know her world would change forever.

This is me, Joyce. I wished I never left home. If I could, I would tell all the emotions I have but that would be spoilers and we wouldn’t want that. The only thing I can tell you is that I live alone with my cat, Sirius. Yes, he is named after Sirius Black from Harry Potter.

If you ever met me, you would never considered being a trustworthy. At least I am fictional which is always a good thing.

Book Review: Beasts of Extraordinary Circustance

IMG_20180312_100013_097.jpg

Welcome back, Y’all. Last week, I read this beautiful book. You guys should check out Book of the Month.  You can pick one new hardback book each month. The great thing about is that your first book when you join is free. Each extra book cost $9.99.

Title: Beasts of Extraordinary Circumstances

Author: Ruthie Emmie Lang

Genre: Fantasy Fiction, Magical Realism

Summary: The narrators of this story are those who have encountered the main character, Weylyn Grey.  Weylyn who is raised by wolves learns he is so much different than everybody else. He discovers he can control the weather by stopping a tornado in Oklahoma single handlely. Through the book, he learns new things about himself that is a blessing but a danger to those he cares for.

So to get things started. The main reason, I bought this book was because I usually don’t read books with magic realism in it. The book itself had a “Disney” Jungle book vice to it. It’s quite interesting. There really isn’t magic involved in the book so if you are against witchcraft. You can read it without worry. I was considerately happy with this story because it had little romance and little language which is hard to find in most books nowadays. I can’t wait to read more books by her.

My book rating: Five Stars, A new favorite

Hope you enjoyed reading this book review. Comment below what book I should review next.

Thanks for reading!
